10 Secrets of People Who Always Have a Clean House

Do you struggle to maintain an orderly clean house?  You probably have that one friend whose house is always sparkling clean, spotless and in perfect order. All you do is ask yourself how they do it. Well, it’s not magic. You only have to incorporate some little habits in your daily life to make your house as clean.  You may not necessarily enjoy cleaning but who does not love the feeling of coming home to a clean house? In case you are wondering, here are the secrets of having a clean house.

  1. Tidy Up as You Go

Cleaning as you go is one of the top secrets of people who always have a clean house. How many outfits did you try before picking up the right one for the day?  And, did you return it to the closet or you left it on your bed? Get a habit of always returning clothes to their drawer or closet rather than leaving them scattered on your bed. Put toys back in the toys box, rearrange the throw-away pillows nicely, and put your coats and your shoes up. It’s simple. Don’t let your house to be a wreck by placing things where they are not supposed to be. A habit of tidying up as you go will always leave your house clean.

  1. Do the Dishes

Washing dishes is one of the most frustrating house chores. However, the last thing you want to see is a sink full of dirty dishes when you wake up in the morning or when you get home in the evening. And remember that you still have to cook. Just do yourself a favor and do the dishes before you go to sleep and before you leave the house in the morning. By doing so, everything will be clean when it’s time to cook the next meal right?

  1. Give Out What You Do Not Use Regularly

There are always these things that you no longer use or need regularly in your house. And they end up occupying so much space in your house. Reduce the clutter in your home by donating or selling these things. It is pretty much easier to keep a house more organized and clean when there is none or less clutter.

  1. Have a Home for Everything

If you have too much stuff in your home without their specific stay place, clutter will always pile in your home. Therefore, it becomes hard to clean such a house. Always have a place to store everything. Have a mailbox to place your mails and designated places for other paperwork. If you keep on putting printouts and bills on your coffee or kitchen table, they will pile up and make your home stay in a disorderly manner.

  1. Do Laundry Often

Yes, do not wait until your dirty clothes are overflowing in your hamper. Make a habit of doing your laundry often on a consistent basis. Once your clothes are dry, fold them neatly and place them in the drawers. Don’t be tempted to through them on an empty room and promise yourself to fold them later. This is because sometimes later becomes never and you will end up with a messy room.

  1. Make Cleaning Enjoyable

Cleaning may not be your thing. However, you can make it feel less like a chore by adding some little fun while doing it. Ever found cleaning more enjoyable while you are listening to some good music? This is the kind of fun I’m talking about. Get wireless Bluetooth headphones and listen to your favorite music as you do the cleaning. This will motivate you and you will always find yourself doing it more often.

  1. Make Your Bed

So, guests are not coming for a house tour and they won’t see your bedroom. Why bother then making your bed? Surprisingly, starting your day by making your bed gives you a tidying mood. Yes, tuck in those sheets and fold your blankets and once you are out of your bedroom you will want everything in its right place. It makes you straighten up all the corners of your house.

  1. Set Up a Cleaning Schedule

People with clean houses set up a cleaning schedule. This is because the house will not miraculously clean itself. Have a designated day to vacuum your house, a day to dust, do laundry and sweep. Following a cleaning schedule ensures that your house is clean all the time.

  1. Wipe Surfaces after Use

Wiping down surfaces after using them will do magic to your house. You will keep surfaces clean and spotless all the time. This prevents built up and accumulation of dirt on your sink, glass surfaces, and counters. This is a task that will only take you a few seconds to finish up.

  1. Return Items after Use

It can be irritating if you are not finding something in your house. This is because after using the item, you leave it anywhere in the house. A habit of returning items to their place of stay after use will keep clutter minimum. An orderly house is a clean house.

As you can see, you don’t need to have a crazy cleaning spree when you have guests coming over. This will only be if you incorporate these little cleaning habits. These are daily habits that you can easily adjust in your life and the reward is a clean house. Be that person whose house is always clean by following these tips.
